In partnership with HHS' surge testing efforts, eTrueNorth will test individuals at eight sites in three states
eTrueNorth is honored to join the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide COVID-19 testing in Jacksonville, Florida; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Edinburg, Texas. These locations have recently experienced an intense level of new cases and hospitalizations related to the ongoing pandemic.
eTrueNorth started with one drive-through testing site in Joliet, Illinois. By working in conjunction with the HHS, local municipalities and more importantly, local pharmacies, eTrueNorth was soon supporting more than 56% of all HHS-funded testing sites. Many drive-through testing sites have been relocated to address the evolving need nationally. In fact, eTrueNorth is providing the technology infrastructure and coordinating laboratory tests in 46 states with great pharmacy partners such as Walmart, Kroger and McKesson’s Health Mart.
With the recent announcement of surge testing in three states over a 5- to 12-day period beginning July 7 and existing drive-through testing sites, we will meet the need to test more than half a million Americans!
This all started with a vision of “fitting healthcare in everyday life.”
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S., eTrueNorth knew it had the proven infrastructure in place and could actively participate in testing Americans. Leveraging its existing retail pharmacy partnerships, eTrueNorth could deploy the same technology it’s used every day to close gaps in care, support employee wellness screenings and identify undiagnosed conditions. And eTrueNorth quickly assembled a curated network of certified laboratories to analyze specimens. Thus, eTrueNorth began its current work of testing Americans for COVID-19.
What’s next? We’re an optimistic company and continue to envision new possibilities to help Americans better manage their health and overcome the pandemic:
And yet, eTrueNorth’s new role in surge testing and enabling ongoing drive-through testing across the US is still rooted where it began: enabling healthcare to be delivered close to home. There will be a time when COVID-19 testing is not an ongoing focus. We will return to working with trusted local pharmacists and know that now and into the future retail pharmacies will be a critical component of healthcare delivery.
By leveraging the accessibility of retail pharmacies, eTrueNorth expands the scope of services provided to consumers to be more effective and higher quality and, at the same time, enhance the pharmacy’s value as a key participant in a multidisciplinary health care delivery model. Let’s talk about how we can partner together to improve healthcare.
